Mastering Thai proved to be quite the challenge, particularly coming from a background of structurally and phonetically different languages. The distinct script and complex five tones initially led to some hilariously awkward attempts at speaking Thai. It was evident that I had to revamp my learning approach to overcome this hurdle.
